Wind of the Holy Spirit Upon Us

My week at training camp was epic! Experienced moments of being blown by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. It was a week filled with joy, laughter, camping out in tents in the pouring rain, worship, vulnerability and cold bucket showers. We had scenarios designed to challenge and stretch us beyond our comfort zone. There were cultural days in which each day we had meals were prepared according to a specific country/continent where we learned about greetings, proper ways to dress to respect their culture and learned how other cultures eat. We also did an all night prayer session called “night watch” which we worshiped, prayed over our squad and our journey ahead.

K Squad- Kingdom Builders!

It was so great getting to know everyone in my squad through team building games and building community with one another. Everyone is filled with so much joy, eagerness to learn and grow and on fire for God. Definitely looking forward to seeing how God will work through our lives and the amazing things he has in store for us.

Meet my team!

Meet my team: Evergreen! – Aliseya, Nicole, Jessie, Sarah and Michaela. My team and I chose this name because it’s a good reminder how God’s love is like evergreen it never fades away and it’s sturdy, withstanding and strong. We can stand firm and be rooted in his love. I am so blessed to be able to serve with these awesome ladies! Each of these ladies are filled with so much kindness, love and laughter! He will fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of Joy. Job 8:21

Hiking Yonah Mountain!

The highlight of my week was hiking up the Yonah Mountain with our backpacks. Even though it was very challenging, being present, seeing the beauty of nature and to be surrounded by God’s creation was amazing. During the hike I felt the presence of God and that Jesus was hiking alongside with me and knowing that he is with me on my journey. There was a moment while we were all worshipping together on the mountain top where we sang “Great Are You Lord” and I was just in awe of his creation and was reminded of how great our Lord is. Looking out at the scenery from the mountain top, feeling the wind and fresh air felt so refreshing and so much peace. I sensed the Wind of the Holy Spirit stirring the atmosphere around us.

In one of our sessions I’ve learned about ministry is life, life is ministry. How we get to be a disciple all the time, loving people and pointing them toward Jesus. I gained so much knowledge and insight. At the end of the lesson we did an activation for us to practice listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. With up to 100 people standing around in a circle with our eyes closed, our speaker told us to ask God “who” and then “what”? Once we heard from him we would go up to someone and share what God spoke to us for that person.  While giving words of encouragement to people I felt the spiritual wind of the Spirit fill the room.

Training camp was life changing and filled with transformation, fun, precious and powerful moments. Throughout the week the presence of the Holy Spirit was like a rushing wind, blowing strongly upon us. This camp is definitely one of the most challenging experiences I’ve done, but some of the best moments I’ve experienced and I loved every second of it. By the end of the week I felt refreshed and empowered.
