Our ministry in Eswatini has been so good. It’s been wonderful being able to serve alongside Adventures Eswatini at different carepoints in the community. My squad was placed at several of the 40 carepoints that they offer to help assist Shepards which are leaders of the carepoints and help with the children’s ministry and their feeding program.

On the first day, we were able to help with their gardening project at one of the carepoints. It was very rewarding to help them start this project which will help them feed the children in the community. In this garden will grow more peaches, papaya, dragon fruit and other fruits and vegetables.

It’s been amazing to love and care for these children in the community as they come to the carepoints. We were able to provide activities, play games, play soccer, dance and sing with the children. We also helped the teacher in the classroom as well. Also we shared Bible stories with them and did a skit along with the stories. One day my teammate shared the gospel with them and majority of children accepted Jesus in their life. On another day for the older children, the Shepard split them up into groups of interest. So there were groups for those that like to sing or dance and other groups were drama, soccer and debate. It’s been amazing to see these children getting involved in the things that they love and gifted in.

I had the wonderful opportunity to assist with the feeding program at the Ntaba and Timbutini carepoint. This carepoint had food donated by Child Hope International and Feed My Starving Children. At the Ntaba The children would all line up outside the kitchen window with their own lunch containers and they were so happy to receive the food we would serve them. At the Timbutini carepoints we helped the cook prepare the manna. The manna we helped prepare was a high protein food and fortified rice and soy blend. We would let the water boil then poured the manna in, then we mixed the oil and salt with it as well. We stirred the mixture and let it cook for an hour. Looking back I remember I used to volunteer with Feed My Starving Children near my hometown when I was in college helping to package meals. Now having this wonderful opportunity to be on the field and serving the mannapack meals to the children and seeing where the manna packs are going has been very rewarding and so much fun. This has been an amazing experience to be a part of serving food provided by different organizations from the U.S. and knowing what we’re doing in the U.S is making a difference.

It has been such a blessing to serve in Eswatini at the different carepoints. It’s been wonderful to see the joy and laughter in the children everyday. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to care and love on these children and sharing the love of Jesus with them and making them feel seen and loved.
