Ministry in Romania has been incredible. For the first couple of weeks we served in city called Draganesti-Olt. We are partnering with Hope Church Romania and it’s been amazing. We met so many people filled with so much love and kindness. God has been working in many wonderful ways through this ministry. Each day has been filled with amazing ministry and God’s goodness. I am so excited to share what a day in the life of serving and doing ministry in Romania looks like.

A small group of us were able to serve with a missionary couple named Emmanuel and Eli. Emmanuel and Eli is so inspiring with wanting to grow their church and felt called to work in the children’s ministry. Serving with them has been so wonderful. We had the opportunities to pass out flyers in small villages, delivering gifts donated by Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child and sharing the gospel as we visited three public schools. We also went on a home visit to spend time with an 85 year old woman named Rada and her daughter. We had some good conversations and was able to pray for her. On another day we helped with leading their children’s ministry by dancing to songs, performing a skit about Noah’s Ark and playing games.

Each day we would have a delicious traditional Romanian lunch prepared for us by Emmanuel’s mother in law. We had the opportunity to eat Sarmale which is cabbage rolls stuffed with meat. We also had traditional soups, fresh homemade baked bread and donuts.

Other opportunities we had was spending half our day to go out in the community cleaning the neighborhood and picking up trash.

Every morning our entire squad would help with the online ministry. Hope church would use social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok to reach out to believers and non believers. On these media platforms we posted squadmates testimonies, Bible verses and recaps of what we did during ministry. One day several people on our squad made a Tik Tok and which had over 4000 views and someone came to church because of our Tik Tok. It’s amazing to see God at work in this type of ministry.

We had the opportunity to help unload a pickup truck full of clothes and furniture for those in need. The truck was coming from Germany to Ukraine, but due to the current political unrest it was intercepted in Romania. So we unloaded the truck and placed the boxes inside a warehouse until it is ready to be distributed to families in need. Our hope and prayers goes out to those in Ukraine in need.

I am so grateful to partner with Hope Church Romania. God is working in so many powerful ways with this ministry. It’s been wonderful that we can be the light in these communities.

  2. Hi Talaya, thank you for sharing such insight into the missionary work you are a part of in Romania. I was amazed that the schools allow missionaries to enter the schools and share God’s Word! From your update, it is apparent that God is using you and the other missionaries to glorify Him! I pray that God will continue to use you for His Glory.
    Love and God Bless,
